Cocoa Bar Perfection

tempimageforsave

This weekend I finally got to bring my dream hot cocoa bar to life. If you know me well, you know I am not one to drink hot beverages but hot cocoa is another story. (Who doesn’t want to drink a delicious cup of chocolate and enjoy it with a variety of toppings?!) While diving into the details of this weekend, I am also going to share a few tips I follow when hosting a party.

Let’s get my first official blog post started! Below are the keys to planning a successful party…

  • Choose a color scheme
    • Now this doesn’t have to be a full out themed party but it looks more appealing when all of the utensils, decor, napkins, table cloths, etc. coordinate well. For this specific occasion it all started with these napkins and this adorable printable sign.

  • Small details leave a lasting image
    • What I mean by this is that you don’t have to break the bank and decorate the entire house. Whether you’re hosting a birthday party, super bowl party, girls night, etc. you can find easy ways to bring the party to life. (For example, I bought the cup sleeves pictured above to add a little color and fun to the white 8oz hot cups).  These were a huge hit with my friends and I received many compliments on them.
    • For the toppings I bought tiny mason jars from the dollar section of Target.
      • I filled them with candy I found for 75% off from World Market, marshmallows from Dollar Tree, Reddi Wip, and a bottle of Jordan’s Skinny White Chocolate Syrup.
    • I also bought an adorable little basket from World Market for $2 to hold the hot cocoa packets which also came from Dollar tree!
  • Shop around for the best deals!!
    • I wanted to buy EVERYTHING buffalo check until my practical side kicked in and realized it would cost me a fortune! I spent some time searching any store I could think of that may have “lumberjack party decor” or hot cocoa themed decorations. This search led me to Hobby Lobby where I found everything I was looking for.

That’s all I have for today’s blog! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thank you for stopping by and supporting me in this new adventure! I can’t wait to share more of my ideas soon.
